I have a 2001 Honda Elite 80cc and love it. You can pick one up new for about $2,500. Its not highway worthy but its perfect where the posted speed is 40 MPH or less, which is just about anywhere in a small city. I get 100 MPG and my insurance is about $115 per year.
Hi, Here is a site that I'm on alot. Site is for people with the Yamaha Majesty Scooter. I have a 2005 Yamaha Majesty Scooter and it has 400cc engine. It gets up to 60 mpg.
At work, one of the bosses way up the management ladder has been a Honda scooter rider for years. His scooter has a 375CC engine and has about 50K miles on it with few repairs ever done! That's a lot of scooter miles! He owns a car, but rarely uses it for commuting or errands round town. Here in the dry southwest, two wheel transport can be used most of the year, but obviously it's safer to be in a car during wet weather.
I use a human powered bicycle for my commuting and errands round town. It's plenty of fun and gives me exercise at the same time. Good mileage too, about 30 miles per banana or granola bar.
We have a Honda Rukus and it is a lot of fun to ride around town for small errands. My husband has Duccati's but loves to ride the scooter too. It's easy to opperate and is really inexpensive to buy and ride.
Holy Cow... a scooter with a 650cc engine?? Maybe I just don't have much imagination, but if you're gonna have that much engine, why not just get a conventional motorcycle?? What would be the advantage of this versus a conventional motorcycle? Is it just a comfort preference or something?
Check out the Honda Silverwing. Its got a 650cc I believe, does 120 mph. A buddy at work bought one, loves it to death.
