Reason: Moved from Texas forum.
Toyota says the Tundra Towing capacity = 4500 lb. (The maximum you can tow depends on the total weight of any cargo, occupants and available equipment).
The truck could probably safely pull 15,000lb depending on the driver and tongue weight. Its really more of a matter of braking rather than being able to pull. That said, with the weight your talking there shouldn't be any issues.
Maximum towing capacity: 7200 lbs.
so proubely not.
I did say depending on the driver, which is huge when it comes to towing heavy. However the OP already said its about 3500lb which is well within any "safe zone".
we pulled an 18' ranger w/ 150 merc from WI to SC behind a v6 4-runner with no trouble at all including in the mountains--just avoid OD in the hills, so i'd think a v8 Tundra pulling a boat that was mentioned would be fine ( though i'd think it's more then 3500#s ). I'll assume that trailer has electronic brakes, if so that in itself would be a huge plus.
