for reasons i won't discuss, 2 ppl in my coop building, who i googled before, and have known to be in foreclosure before, are the only ones in my bldg of 50 units to have their mtges assigned.
i am in nyc and i can tell from the public real estate/deeds site, aka acris.
can someone let me know how they might be perpetrating a fraud..
it's too much of a coincidence that both of them have had their mortgages assigned..

Have to ask - why in the world do you care and why are you googling people in your building? Thats more than a little scary
An assignment of mortgage is actually a very common and routine occurence. It will happen when a mortgage is sold, and in NY it can also happen when a rate/term modification is performed in lieu of a full refi. Stop reading things into the situation that aren't there.
My mortgage in NJ was assigned four or five times as it was sold from one bank to another over the nine years we lived there--and we never paid anything late.

It could be assigned for any number of reasons. Take my countrywide loan, its now a BoA loan. Nothing I did in terms of modifying anything, nothing I did to pay late. Simply its with a new bank now.
I agree, stop reading into things.
