Question does anyone know if your loan officer know when the underwriter sends it to the USDA. I was told my file was sent to the underwriter on Feb 22, It's now the 27th and I haven't heard anything and my loan officer hadn't returned my phone calls. The last information I received was my closing date looks like March 10th

A file will not go to USDA unless it has been underwritten by the lender, and has an Automated approval from the system that is utilized by USDA. USDA, like the lender's underwriting team, will look at the documentation obtained by the lender to verify that the parameters that are entered into the Automated system are supported, thereby "approving the approval." They ensure that the information in the system is true.

I personally have not heard of a file with an automated USDA approval being turned down by USDA. However, as it is a public agency, waiting times can be a little long due to staffing.
