For the contractors, it is about $$$. More houses equals more money.
Now, I think the pendelum has swifted & those who want new homes (for reasons I will never understand) have better luck at interviewing contractors, getting contractors there on time, and for the work to not be so shabby b/c the contractors NEED work. The era of build build build is over. Most people know new homes have not been built well. So, now, contractors have to backpedal & save their jobs by showing they can show up on time & do quality work.
