I have searched here and Google, all I find is..., "YES, buy title insurance." I recently had my short sale offer accepted, (been quite a few months) which is great. So I have been looking around for the best rates. I submitted an application, received my numbers, GFE, etc., back from some. From a credit union that I am seriously considering however, for buyers title insurance, it currently lists "0.00". I do plan to ask the mortgage officer, however my question is this, do I just tell them that I want buyers title insurance, do I find a title company myself, or will they provide me with the same one as the lenders title insurance?

Thanks!
I didn't even have to ask for mine, the lender automatically added it into the closing costs.

Customs may vary from place to place, so I can't be sure who will typically handle this where you are. Here in NJ, it is usually the buyers attorney. If I were you, I would start there.
