Three A.I firms from the U.K opening offices in Montreal: Warm welcome to QuantumBlack, WinningMinds and BIOS. 130 A.I jobs will be coming from the U.K to Montreal and I'm sure they'll be hiring here as well. More details to follow after.

Quite a bit of news for MTL. Today another studio announced another office opening in Montreal. Welcome, DigitalDomain.

Man... May just be time for me to move back home!

I legitimately think it would be wise to set my kids up for a college education in Canada.

I would go that way, education in Canada is amazing and much more affordable, plus MTL has a great reputation with McGill, Concordia and UdeM. Also, the city is booming as well and is still pretty damn affordable compared to other cities. It is a great time to be alive and in the city.

Are there any tall building projects going on in the east end of downtown?

The only one is Maestria (2x 168m) honestly, and that's in Place des Arts. The thing about Eastern downtown (past St. Laurent) is the height limits are between 40-80m max. We are seeing a bunch of 12-25 floor high rises in those areas but nothing tall as of now. So all the tall buildings are in the Western or Centre downtown.

168m is pretty good height. That will contribute nicely to the skyline.

Are they actually going ahead with Maestria? I know there was a bit of backlash around it.

I believe so, I got an email saying sales will start next year. The whole backlash about the city not knowing about the development is B.S though, especially since it goes through councils in the borough and not the city themselves. Also considering how there was news in October about a new project and how the new developers bought the land from another (which needed city approval) just shows how idiotic the current administration is haha. I even saw the blueprints in October as well, so I have a hard time believing the city.
