Went apple picking today and i expected to see much fall foliage color out in the country but i think mother nature hasnt got the memo that its now October, nowhere on the trip from Montreal to Franklin did we see any hint of fall colors.

Because of weather patterns changing, fall colours are expected to start later. Some trees already have turned red or orange, but much less at this time compared to last year. Some trees on Mont-Royal have fall foliage though, but I'm sure it'll pick up soon.
This Wednesday we will take rt 327 up to Arundle return on rt 329 ,i'm hoping for a better showing from Mother Nature on this Trek.
Will stop in St Sauveur on the way back for an early supper, any one got any restaurant recommendations?
Took the trip and no where along the way did we see fall foliage worth stopping to take a picture, its as if the leaves are falling off the trees still green with no color change, very odd for this time of the year.
Im thinking the hot dry autumn season is probably the reason for it .
It's still summer, that's why! Did you hear what our temps are going to be like next week? Unheard of!
Don't temperatures typically increase drastically for like a week or so in October? Indian Summer? I recall as a kid one year we were swimming the week before Halloween, and then it snowed on Halloween.
While temps may rise a little in late September we have been going through a heat wave with temps exceeding 30C, in fact IMO its been hotter in September than it was in July. And now we are into October and daily temps are twice the seasonal average. This weather is a bit more than an Indian summer = September's record-breaking heat wave sweeps Montreal | CTV Montreal News

I was up in the Eastern Townships the past two days. Highway 222 around the vicinity of Valcourt and Racine has a lot of bright red and orange colors. If heading over the border, Northeast Vermont is pretty colorful too. Don't bother going any further south for the time being. There is very little color down here.
Lots of good color along A-20 going up to Quebec yesterday.
