Was anyone there? *hand shoots up* I was!

The Rolling Stones were a major deal when they came to Montreal in 1972 and locals responded to the Street Fighting Man anthemic crew with corresponding vigor.

I found an article on Coolopolis about the concert. There are some interesting photos included in the article, as well as a link that goes to a documentary made by the National Film Board.

I've never seen the documentary but plan to watch it later today.

I was 7 years old then, so probably not.

I say "probably" because, in 1986, when I asked my Dad if I could tag along on his Vancouver business trip because Expo was there then, he said "You were at Expo in Montreal already." (Montreal Expo was in 1967.) "But I was 2 years old..." I said. "Yeah, but you were there," was his retort.

He took me to Expo when I was 2, so maybe he took me to the Stones when I was 7. Who knows...

Anyway, cool(opolis) article. Thanks for sharing.

You're welcome, regarding sharing the link.

My family had passports to Expo 67. I was twelve years old at the time. I didn't pay much attention to most of the pavillons/exhibits - I wasn't that kind of a kid. I had a short attention span, and spent more time gawking at the crowds and the people.

I still remember the greasy pizza that was available by the slice at La Ronde.

Several years later, a friend and I went to La Ronde and the same greasy pizza was available in those old booths!

I remember that there was a Bavarian Oom Pah Pah place on the site, but from what I can gather, it's no longer there. A shame.
