Montreal police released data on all break-ins over 15 months. Here's what it shows.

I notice a few of the rough patches look to be neighborhoods around university campuses. That actually kind of makes sense in a way.

My parents lived in TMR for a few years and they had their place broken into. It must have been some little kids because all they took was some c.d's, some vhs tapes and and old jacket of mine. They were going to take the vcr but changed their mind and left it by the door. It's funny because I'm looking at the map and TMR, Westmount and hampstead look to be pretty clear of break ins compared to other parts of the city. I know some of these places have their own security, at least TMR had their town security plus the cops patrol that area a lot. If you look out of place to them they will not hesitate to stop you.

Westmount used to have their own security, too, and might still have.
