There are always people who are gonna feel hard-done-by and forgotten in any project.

At the moment the biggest complaints are coming from Montreal's east end.

Though they are slated to get an extension of the Métro's blue line out to Anjou. (If this new REM project siphons money away from the blue line extension and jeopardizes it, then they will have a reason to complain.)

They also just got the Mascouche line, and there's going to be a rapid bus project on Pie IX. I think this is a good time for Montreal, transit is being expanded and improved in all four cardinal directions! Everyone's always going to prefer they got more, but I think if we're being reasonable we can admit that everyone's getting something good in the next few years. I don't think the Liberals would be stupid enough to cancel the Blue Line to finance this, those are swing seats.

Untested funding model? Hmmmm.

What's Montreal's record on huge projects with tested funding models?

Also didn't the Federal government promise money to the provinces for new transit infrastructure? Is any of that money going into this?
