Hi. My kids and I are going to Montreal again next week. We will arrive on Sunday and head home Tuesday. Sunday we will do the Museum of Fine Arts and Tuesday the Biodome. Do I recall correctly that not a lot of restaurants and such are open in the evening on Sunday? I want to plan an evening for a meal out. Our hotel has a kitchen, so we can eat in the other night. Also, does anyone have any ideas of fun things to do on Monday when a lot of things are closed?

Thanks!

And tourist attractions don't generally close on Mondays in Montreal.

Well, it's a tradition in much of the world (especially Europe) that major museums are closed Monday.

I did not know that Montreal followed this tradition (I've never tried to visit a museum in Montreal on a Monday, I guess) but having travelled a lot I am not surprised.

When I've been overseas I've always planned my visits around the Monday closings and kind of expected them.

From what I see museums in cities like Toronto and New York don't seem to follow the custom.

Yah I should have learned my lesson by now. I live in the US. I take some time off for my kid's vacations. I usually schedule a city trip for part weekend, part vacation week which often involves a Monday. No worries, we will do a walking tour, do some shopping and swim in the hotel pool.

Anyone have favorite restaurants? My kids are very adventurous and accommodating. I am looking forward! Thanks for helping me enjoy the anticipation.
