We are a family of 5. We are planning to lease a 4 1/2 apartment in Lasalle or Verdun area.

My kids are under 9 year age including one infant.

Are these areas OK for a family?

Is 41/2 apartment reasonably enough for a family of this size?

The rent is 735 to 780 including stove, fridge, hot water and electricity.

A 4-1/2 is only two bedrooms. The three kids will share one bedroom?

Should be a separate room for infant?

You would need a 5-1/2 room apartment. Verdun is closer to the city core than LaSalle is.

Here's a link that I posted on another thread - Montreal Apartment Living - Neighbourhoods

Some of the duplexes in LaSalle can be iffy; I lived in a couple and the noise in them really travelled.

Here is a link to Kijiji rentals in Montreal.

You can certainly look on Craigslist as well (link on the Apartment Living site) but beware. There are a few scammers on that site...
