My upstairs Neighbor has a small dog and allows it to do it's waste on the balcony. Periodically, he washes the balcony and all the filthy water floods down on my patio.
I tried to explain to him that it wasn't acceptable and his reply was that he can let me know when he's going to do it...and even come down and clean off my patio afterward.
I told him that he needs to place disposable mats down on his balcony and he didn't seem to be very receptive. I've decided to inform Apartment Management of the problem and now I'm concerned about retaliation from him. Guess it's just about standing up for yourself...I don't think I was wrong in doing what I did.

I agree with you. I think Apartment Management should handle this issue, and you should immediately report any attempts by your neighbor to retaliate or intimidate you. You just requested common courtesy. Any dog owner is aware of this. Good luck!

Wow, your neighbor is disgusting. You did the right thing, that type of behavior is not acceptable at all.
