Yes, I'm wondering when the earliest time that you can take the Butte bypass safely.(homestake pass)?
And also, Do they keep interstate 90 safely passable during the month of March?
Thanks in advance,
Jamie

Here is the site I use to plot my travels
Montana Department of Transportation Traveler Information Map
As for the pass, it depends on the weather. I am sure there are others here who have a bit more experience with this one than me. Good luck and welcome.

I drive over the Homestake Pass on I90 between Bozeman and Butte any time of the year.
It is not closed unless there is a major blizzard, and for that you can check the Montana Traveler Info web page for weather alerts that Walter linked above.

Put 4 studded snow tires on your car if you plan to be driving over it in the dead of winter.

Other than that, it's fine, and a beautiful scene of amazing rock formations to view, too.
