The deer stand in my yard, not 20 ft from my garden and they eat grass. Never touch the garden.

It will not snow, it will not snow, it will not snow, everybody say it with me, it will not snow......

Here's what I did today. I don't want any more snow or I'll have to find my chains in the shed.

Hey EH, does that still work ok for "off road" riding? That seems to me left "footprint" on the land

I can get just about anywhere I want on trails with those tires. But there is a problem. It is against the law on Forest Service, Designated 4 wheeler trails. I think it is in Montana too.

We have miles and miles of designated trails for 4 wheelers and motorcycles, in the mountains. The laws on those trails have requirements to use.

1) Vehicles will be less than 50 inches wide.
2) Vehicles will be astride sitting. In other words, you can't use a side by side, only a 4 wheeler or motorcycle.
3) Vehicles will be 900 lbs or less

And the kicker
4) Vehicles will have flotation tires rated at 10 psi or less.

The tires that I use are car tires and are rated at 40 psi. I only have 8 lbs of pressure in them, but because they are rated at 40 psi, I can't use them on the trails.

Now, the trailes that are for cars, trucks, dune buggys, etc, I can run those trails just fine and have no problem in mud, or crossing streams and rivers.

The nice thing is I run 25 miles into town to get grocerys, I take the 4 wheeler. On the highway I can run 55 mph and it tracks nice and smooth. On gravel, the speed limit is 45 and that's what I run.

It's funny. If I take my truck to town, on the Interstate, it takes me 30 minutes to get to WalMart. On the 4 wheeler (not legal on Interstate) I can take back roads, county roads, and be at WalMart in 35 minutes. It only takes 5 minutes more.

The big plus???? Timber loves riding on the tool box.

Interesting to know, thanks. Will just keep my ol regular nubbys on. Where I live now, I have to load up the wheeler and travel to off road sites, I loved living in ID where we had the national forest and wilderness area right in the back yard, boo hoo...

Knobby tires cost approximately $110 per tire and will wear out in 3-4 months on pavement.

Steel belted radials I have are 50,000 mile warranteed and will outlast the 4 wheeler.

So I run the knobbys during the winter and radials during the summer. As you can see, it's licensed, so running back and forth to town, I get 30+ mpg. In my truck, I get much less. So as soon as it's done snowing, I swap them and use it for primary transportation. I put 2000-3000 miles on it a year and put less than 1000 miles on my truck in a year. This way, I can get the knobby tires to last several years.

I cheat:

I got my mountain bike out of the shed, oiled it and pumped up the tires.

It is electric, so when my legs start to give out, I can flip a switch and be able to make it home.

It will go 14 mph and I have run it 14 miles pulling the trailer, all on electric.

It has 3 modes 1) 10 speed pedal power. 2) Full electric, crank on the throttle and go. 3) pedal assist. You have to pedal but it will help.

First thing I did was throw the narrow seat away and get one that was comfortable.

Timber loves it. As soon as I get it out, she jumps in and ready to go.

Ha, Timber you are all purpose...

Hello everyone, sorry to not be stopping by but that ole need to make a buck keeps me busy.
Here is some interesting perspectives on what is happening back east, sorry to see it happening but glad I am not stitching up the folks right now. Pray for the lonesome Law Enforcement who have to make the stops alone with these dangerous folks in the area. Not the fellows trying to make a living but the criminals who follow looking for a weak spot to do their crime.
