Check out my "Homepage" when you click on 'montygarlic' in the header of this post.

Seeing as you are an actual BBQer (meaning you understand slow-cooking and not merely grilling), I'd be happy to send you a sample if you'll provide me a mailing address via a Private Message here...

I love this thread Always something to talk about.
ok,
BBQ, I grew up in the south and had to have only pork with Pop's sauce on it. In San Anton while in the service I and learned what real slow BBQ was, heaven!
I do not know if they even make Pop's anymore. We used to buy it at the Piggley Wiggley
Beef BBQ, brisket that is became a staple of my life in Texas.
Lewistown, nice area. I have worked down there. Maybe a destination for this summer, this cook off. Anyone been to it?

BTW snowing here on the prairie but we have been above zero for almost 48 hours.

Let's not forget the one and only World Championship kosher barbecue cook-off in Memphis, TN, every August.

Default Cardboard signs ! ~♥~

You all are making me hungry. We had a budget malfunction and couldn't do a turkey or even go out this year but our thanksgiving pancakes were good with the huckleberry syrup we used.
Check out the cardboard signs they are using now. This one already has two bullet holes in it. No wonder they use the cardboard ones here.
What I thought odd is that it says "Administrative use by permit"
I guess they need to give themselves a permit to administer this road !

Hmm, considering the topic of the sign, I'd say the bullet holes express public opinion!!

I hear ya on the malfunctioning budget. Mine has gone from a little ping-and-knock to throwin' a rod and now it needs a total rebuild. The reason we had turkey is cuz it was $1.50/pound (almost no bone or waste in that "breast only" chunk) and it's gonna be breakfast sandwiches for the next two weeks.

They keep closing trails and roads to motorized use so the hikers have exclusive rights and then the trails go unused and become overgrown.

Speaking of budgets, I only had to buy the turkey, everything else came out of the freezer or were the end of the year out of the garden. First time I have been so lucky in the garden over here. That wet summer and cool fall were good to us.
I even have some chokecherry syrup.

Looking at that sign I would rather be on any of the machines if i met up with ole mr. grizzly
