Congratulations on your soon to be new home! That is exciting.

With contractors you want to check references, business licenses, and check to see if they have any problems as far as complaints filed with BBB and the MO AG's office, it wouldn't hurt to check case net to see if they've been involved in litigation. I've not used Angie's list but it may be worth a search. You can check to see if they have a business license at the Missouri Sec. of State's website.

Be certain your intallers/contractors can produce proof of liability insurance before they start the job and have a contract that spells out everything, their duties, your duties, timefram for work completion, all costs, and resolution of problems at whose cost.

I used a Columbia area installer for insulation this past winter and was very pleased: NEMOW
Nemow Insulation Sturgeon Missouri MO Insulation Contractors

As far as windows, it depends who you are purchasing them from. Generally the dealer will have a list of recommended installers whom they've worked with in the past. If you are ok with vinyl clad windows there is a Missouri manufacturer that is pretty good and resonably priced: Quaker Windows. They are on display at Boone Co. Millworks off Vandiver. They also carry Marvin windows there.

If you are looking at something from a home improvement/hardware type store I suggest you try Meeks before the big box stores.

Sorry I cannot help with solar water heat. Be wary of the "Energy Doctor" as they are a new franchise with pretty limited experience.

With the radient flooring it will depend upon whether you are looking at installing electric or water.

NEMOW has a very good reputation. I was refered to them by my Electrical/hvac company. As you can read the name backwards it is a female owned company.

I don't know if RIBAC plumbing supply (Designer Kitchen & Baths is their showroom) can help you with names of installers for your radiant flooring project or not.

What I mean by Assessment is what this web link said to me LOL
Super Saver Loans (http://www.gocolumbiamo.com/WaterandLight/Conservation/loans.php - broken link)
Although I found out yesterday I am not going to be a customer with them that I can't apply for the Super Saver Loan with them. I am with Boone Electric.

That is not necessarily a bad thing. The Missouri Touchstone Energy Cooperatives also offer a variety of rebates and discounts.
