accosted??

I would go the Horseshoe, Goldstrike and the Grand (I guess it is going to Harrah's ??) would be the places you would want to go to.

We go to Tunica every summer while in Mississippi visiting relatives and have stayed at several of the resorts. The Horseshoe is by far my favorite due to the extremely comfortable beds but if I can't get a decent rate there we stay at the Goldstrike (which is a very nice place too). We like it there since we can walk to three different casinos easily (Sheraton, Goldstrike, Horseshoe). I have found rooms at the Goldstrike for half the rate of the Horseshoe. We didn't care for The Grand as it was too far removed from other casinos.

Paula's buffet hasn't opened yet, but will open on May 23....looks like it will be very nice.

One thing I really don't understand, how come always the uneducated and those with attitude problems get the customer services jobs? Well, its not only the casinos, but also Costco, the Airport, Krogers...you name it

Because they only pay minimum wage or slightly above, although I expect the casino's pay better

Customer service is bad everywhere nowadays, not just in Mississippi. We recently made a trip to Georgia for my niece's wedding and it was about impossible to get good customer service or even finding someone who speaks English. In Georgia, we stopped at a store asking for the location of the Sears store. They said they didn't know........er uh, it was in the shopping center right behind them!

I think minimum wage is the key here........leaves the jobs open to those willing to work for them where others won't.

Thanks so much for all of the helpful responses. We ended up going to Sam's Town, and were pretty happy with it. It was right down the road from the boat tour, and convenient to other casinos. The room was really nice, and the food was great. The casino had a nice mix of machines and tables. We also went to Hollywood and Fitzgeralds. I hated the food at Hollywood, but the casino was decent enough. Fitz had a nice casino too.

I was going to say the whole South, but most of my experience was limited to Mississippi.

Try the upper midwest, I think you would see quite a difference.
