Default Flea market

yeah, they have it 3x times a year. I hear it's a great place to go to buy farm animals or pets, as long as you only want them for a few months. We met a guy selling tomatoes on a corner down near that area this past summer. He said his next door neighbor bought a bunch of pigs there....they all died within six months. Next time it came around, he bought a bunch of rabbits, which disappeared (probably coyotes or hungry stray dogs) within two months. Apparently his neighbor isn't the brightest bulb either.

Someone else we know in Memphis said it's the biggest bunch of junk they'd ever seen, and they wrote to us: " couldn't believe we made the drive down for booths full of cheap socks, cheap purses, one huge booth selling outdated pkg'ed foods (which people were picking through like it was gold), crusty-eyed pups and kittens crammed into too-small cages, and a whole lotta obese people missing their front teeth."

Have fun!

You people really are something. Coldwater, Ms. is just like any other country town. Yes we still have the flea market 3 times a yr, called Trade Days. As for the junk, thats what flea markets are ---- one persons junk is anothers treasure. The animals died probably because of the care they recieved after they got to their new home. For having nothing to do, thats just not true. Coldwater is about 30 miles from memphis, tn., maybe 20 or 25 from Tunica, Ms. which has really grown because of the casino's, lots to do there. People are frendly here and we love it !!!!! If you want to live the country life but are still close enoigh to the big cities for the life in the fast lane, you'll br right at home here.

Default It came from Coldwater Trade Day

In response to those people that made remarks about the animals that they purchased at the trade day in Coldwater!

I bought my PIG there last year. His name is ELVIS! He is a hunk-a-hunk of burnin love! At least he's a big hunk of pig! He is well and doing fine one year after he found a new home! He will neither be a breakfast food or a christmas ham! He is my dogs pet!

I have known people that have purchased animals there that have been very satisfied with thier purchases because they were willing to take the responsibility to care for the animals as they should.

If those people who bought those pigs and rabbits ate them then no wonder they didn't last very long. If they kept them as pets then they should have taken better care of them. Coyotes, foxes and of course the nieghbors cats and dogs like the taste of rabbits as do lots of people.

As far as Coldwater and any other small Mississippi town! Funny thing is I ain't seen no homeless people wandering around here. Seems we take care of our neighbors. Even the ones that move out of big cities like MEMPHIS!

People from other places may think we Mississipians are slow but the thing is we just don't see the need to get in a hurry. Its a long way between here and yonder for us and we just don't want to be tired when we get there!

One note to end on! If you don't like it here in our quiet little friendly towns and think we are funny people, then may I ask, WHY COME HERE?

Okay, first of all, its terrible to make fun of other people when you dont even seem to be able to speak english yourself. There are many well educated people who live in Mississippi with perfect dental hygiene and well maintained physical health. And there may be some people here who have weight problems and dont have an entire set of teeth, but I would much rather spend my time with those types of good hearted, down-to-earth people than a bunch of people who could care less about anything other than how their house and BMW compare to their neighbors. People who live in the South (Mississippi or otherwise) are some great people who just enjoy life. Who cares if they want to dig through banana boxes full of other people's "junk". Its tons more fun and cheaper than going out for a night on the town. So the next time you think that you know about us "Mississippians" just because you spent some time here or know someone who did, think again, because you just dont have a clue what fun you're missing. And frankly, my dear, we just dont give a d@mn what you think anyway!
