Woodbury is already a suburb, you could consider both living and working there.

No downtown; but we go to Stillwater or Hudson for that. Good luck!
Yes, it is 15 minutes, I have driven it several times. Bridge traffic is no problem since you are going against traffic each way. It is a quick hop up Hwy 52 and over on 494, very easy drive.

Google Maps says 21.8 miles and 29 minutes. I guess it could vary slightly depending where you are starting from and going to in each area.

from: Rosemount, MN to: Woodbury, MN - Google Maps

That's nice but Hwy 52 has a 65 mph speed limit and 494 is 60 mph, it is a 15 minute drive.

Most people want a commute of 20 - 25 minutes or less in GOOD traffic, that means no rain, no construction, and no snowing. Since MN often has those issues, to direct a person to look for a house in towns like Stillwater (which is not considered a suburb of St. Paul/Mpls) and Rosemount (on the fringe of the cities also) is misleading. Also, I get the impression this poster wants a very quick commute to Woodbury--Rosemount would not be quick. I've done a lot of commutes in my day and know that what looks doable on paper or the map may not be. Actually drive it a few times and you'll have an idea. A good realtor who specializes in relocating would be worth a call.

You would need to drive at an average speed of about 88 MPH to travel 21.8 miles in 15 minutes. Faster than 88MPH to make up for any stop signs, red lights, or other slowdowns.

Because many people enjoy the long commutes in the morning. Sitting in traffic is fun!
