What are the most holiday-decorated downtown areas in the Twin Cities metro?
My wife and I love Christmas and the season in general and are wanting to find some good downtown's here that have decorations and or celebrations. I know the mall in Maple Grove is all lit up and Burnsville usually puts up a lot of lights. Any other suggestions?

Stillwater and Hastings. Also, if you don't mind a bit of a drive, Cumberland, WI had a lot of unique downtown "lights". I drove through there a couple weeks ago and they have garland shaped as Christmas trees on their light posts. I went through during the day but would like to have seen them at night. It also looked like there were some cute shops in town too.

St. Paul DT seems to always have a nice Christmasy vibe. But then again, I am a St. Paulite and therefore probably a bit biased. Rice Park is always nice though especially with the ice rink there and all.

Mall, schmall. People in the 'burbs think they've got a lock on the Christmas Spirit, but my block in North Minneapolis is postcard perfect in the wintertime, with snow hanging on the big trees, a line of old Victorian houses with their windows lit up, and kids playing in the snow. Yes, those kids are wearing hoodies, but in the wintertime, so is everybody else.
