Well St. Cloud hasn't had any at all, besides a teeny tiny bit. If you were here you're car would of been just fine. Right now we have less then an inch, it has snowed a very, very, very teeny bit, under an inch, and very very very little wind. The trees here are pretty still.

Drove down to TX a few winters ago, when we left it was Memorial day weekend. 86 degrees when we left TX....broke down in Eveleth MN less than 24 hours later and it started to snow. It was an interesting home coming.

Currently 9 degrees, - 5 windchill. Calling for a high of 17 with flurries off and on.

I wrote out a huge list of the spring cleaning/yard work things that have to be done as soon as the snow melts. And I mean HUGE. Had me feeling a little bit better about the crappy weather now

The snow might not melt until April at this rate. There's no warm weather anywhere in the forecast. Subzero temperatures are making a return in a few days.

Geez, if we ever had snow down here on Memorial Day, I would be moving back to Missouri in a heart beat!

I did notice that the Redwood River north of town was open and flowing. At least some of the water is moving out before the big thaw begins

No subzero temps in the forecast for Winona in the next few days. Here is a sampling of forecast highs for some cities in MN over the next few days (Wed - Sat). There are times when variations are greater than 30 degrees between northern and southern MN. It's interesting to me how temps vary between areas based location in a metro area, near bodies of water, or low latitude.

But here's the thing I've been getting a kick out of all winter ( my mom calls me and giggles as she's from the below town)

Homer ALASKA ( where it's supposed to be, you know, close to tundra and such.)

North doesn't automatically mean cold apparently

Keep in mind that Homer is on the Central Coast / Gulf of Alaska. Go to the interior (Fairbanks) and it will be considerably colder in winter and warmer in summer. The Northern Plains / Upper Midwest gets cold in the winter for much the same reason Fairbanks does - the lack of proximity to large bodies of water.
