I am relocating from KC to Minnesota and I have a few questions so if anyone can help me out with any of my questions I would appreciate it!
1.) Commute from Shakopee to 494 and France/York/Xerxes, whats up with the "South of the River" communities and commutes?
2.) How are the middle schools in Shakopee?
3.) Appears to be a great buyers market for townhomes in the area, how hard is it to sell?
4.) Sound insulation in townhomes?
5.) How much lower can the prices go? Appears you can't even build one for some of the lender owned asking prices.
6.) How strong are the associations?
7.) Anything else I am missing that I should be thinking about?

If you plan to work on the north side of the Minnesota River, keep in mind that the river floods occasionally in the spring and traffic can be difficult.

The commute isn't one of the best but it isn't one of the worst either. Shakopee schools are marginal-they are ok, not great, not the worst. There are better choices in the area. Selling a townhome in any market isn't the best. Shakopee is overbuilt with townhomes, thus the low prices. It's hard to answer about associations, etc. unless you actually live in one. There are very few home owners associations outside of Townhome communities in MN.
