Sure it is. Areas along the Parkway have a great housing stock -- some of the biggest and best built houses anywhere on the Northside.

I've never lived there, but I have a coworker that rents a house (from another coworker's friend) in Willard Homewood close to the parkway. She's a single mom with a young child, moved to the city from the northern suburbs, and so far says she loves it there. I have other friends that have either grown up and/or lived there and, although I don't think we talked at length about it, they all seemed to have positive experiences.

There are some good things going for that neighborhood. In addition to the parkway/ housing stock, the neighbors/community seem pretty determined to make the area an artists' neighborhood (there are a few arts-oriented organizations in the n'hood already) and encourage local artists/artsy folks to establish roots there.

When we were purchasing our home a few years back, there were homes on theo wirth parkway listing in the high 300s/low 400s, so I think it is somewhat known as a desirable area. Willard Homewood is pretty unique in that the population is so socioeconomically diverse when travelling from one stretch of the neighborhood to the next- you can really see the big shifts in quality of life as you travel east towards Penn.

its more block to block than some of the further north neighborhoods. What intersecting streets? As a whole most of those blocks west of about Sheridan are pretty quiet, though.
