Hello! I recently got engaged and we are hoping to have a wedding in or near River Falls or Hudson WI, with a reception within 15-20 minutes.

I have searched and searched and am hoping to maybe get some feedback from people regarding their past expiriences or knowledge!

We will have around 300 people at the reception so the space needs to be ample!

Am willing to go into St Paul if necessary but would like to keep it close by!

Please let me know if you have suggestions!!

Thank You & God bless!

When are you getting married? There are several riverboats out of Hudson and Stillwater that hold wedding receptions. St. Michael's Church in Stillwater has a new reception hall. I don't think you have to be a member there to rent that space. The Afton Inn might be an option but I don't know if they hold 300 people. The VFW in Stillwater does but I don't know how "nice" you want your space.

We are planning a September 2009 wedding - no date picked yet. Do you have any knowledge on the Hudson Golf Course- or the Prestwick Golf Course in stillwater? We are in need of a venue that allows an outside caterer as my fiances dad owns a catering company and we plan to use that!

I don't know for sure but my guess is that the golf courses have their own restaurant and you will have to use their food. That information is generally on their websites if you want to look into that. I know the Old Courthouse in Stillwater doesn't have onsite catering but unless they have expanded somehow that spot doesn't hold 300 people.

But it is a lovely reception site IMHO.

I agree-my sister had her reception there many years ago--great photo places around the courthouse. It was fun for us because growing up it was still a courthouse. We went to school across the street and often stopped there after school to hit the vending machines there .
