Have you tried Holyland Deli in NE Minneapolis? They have a great selection of Middle Eastern foods. They also have a smaller store at the Midtown Global Market in South Minneapolis.

Has anyone tried the little deli/grocery connected to the Caspian Bistro in Mpls, near the U? I already shop there for a few items.

The MGM location is not too bad, does the HL's shop there get enough turnover of items. Most times I've been there, the restaurants are doing decent business, the other shops, not so much.

I pop in, pick up my stuff and leave. Never got anything remotely like a bad item, so I guess I don't care that much what the traffic is. Besides, I think to park close, you have to pay. Not sure that is true Northeast these days. So there's a disincentive for me to hang around for very long.

Been..., I'm not concerned about parking or traffic; but more interested in product turnover. Tahini is more perishable than some people realize.

Would be interested to learn of other well-rated middle eastern groceries, if someone knowing of any notices this thread.

... Just popped over to do a quick search, and the 3 places already mentioned are the top 3 results. A bit further down the list was Bill's Imported Foods and Emily's Lebanese Deli--anyone got the skinny on them?

Babylon Grocery is in Fridley (University and Mississippi). I've never been inside, but I'd imagine it's a Middle Eastern grocery store. A little bit further south in Fridley there is Bosnian SuperMarket. I'd be surprised if there wasn't a grocery store or two along Central in Columbia Heights.

We've bought tahini at Fresh and Natural Foods in Shoreview.
