Our family will be moving to MN in a month or so as I have a job offer in Elk River that I plan to accept. We have been looking at Maple Grove and Plymouth as the commute seems reasonable and these towns seem to offer what we are looking for. Can anyone recommend a good place to rent for a year? I have 2 younger children (ages 2 and 4) with no pets. Thanks.

I hate to "shill" out my apartment complex, but it's been a great place to live since I moved in last June.

Plymouth Square at 37th (right across the street from the Plymouth Ice Center/Lifetime fitness). I've never had a problem with noise or bad neighbors, and the management has always had great turnaround if something needed fixed. It has a good mix of residents (a lot of younger professionals, some families with kids, some elderly people). I think the building is somewhat older than other complexes (built in the 80's?), but it's well-maintained.

Sorry I can't speak for any of the other complexes....there are plenty of choices in both those communities.

There also seems to be a lot of townhomes for rent if that is what you're looking for...

I have noticed a lot of people trying to sell their homes are also offering them for rent (often at far less than the mortgage would be). I don't have specific information about Maple Grove or Plymouth, but you might want to check the realtor sites and craigslist.

Thanks for the info. My wife is looking to move into a location so that our daughter goes to Rush Creek school. I look at the town homes for rent.
