I'm heading to the cities this week and looking for some indoor activities since that -2 weather will be on us. Can anyone suggest anything? I'm not too particular, just looking for the full Minnesota experience. Thanks!

Well, the "full" experience is mostly outside but with the temps and more importantly the -40° windchills, staying indoors is kind of a must if you aren't used to cold. Bring scarves, hats and gloves even for short periods of time outside-walking from the parking lot to a store even.

Well the obvious is the Mall of America. The numerous museums would also be high on the list if you like that kind of thing. There are a lot of indoor exhibits as the Minnesota Zoo as well.

Later in the week-Thursday/Friday temps are not going to be as brutal.

If you're bringing the kids, then Edinborough-Park is a must. We just visited it earlier today and had a great time!

We just went skating at the Depot in downtown Minneapolis. I fit right in with all the other people that can't skate and it was pretty nice for a couple of hours and definitely warmer than outside. And yes, you can rent skates there.

If you have young kids, I also recommend Edinborough-Park. My two girls absolutely loved it.

You could also take the light rail from Mall of America to Nicolette mall and and walk around in the Skyway system. In fact, we wish we spent more time exploring the Skyway system. We found it very interesting (waterfalls, lots of shopping, restaurants, etc...) .

We also enjoyed going to the indoor waterpark: Water Parks in Minnesota | Water Park of America

If you are not coming from a big metro area, and have never been into an IKEA, that is also another option. We were able to drop our girls off at the free childcare area and just explore the store. We have never seen anything as uniquely setup as an IKEA.

I don't know if this is what you are looking for, but here are some options.
