Finally -- I get to come back home maybe 2 times a year and this weekend is one of those time and I CAN'T WAIT!!!

I'd like to think that I know the city pretty well and would know what I'd like to do with our time when we're there, but looking at the latest (and not greatest) forecast it seems like MN is going to get bypassed by this oppressive heat wave this weekend and may instead be cloudy and/or cool through Saturday. Most of my family-fun ideas were outdoors originally, and now I'm finding myself scrambling to come up with fun things to do with my wife, 2-yr old and I (outside of hanging out with friends).

Could anyone offer some suggestions as far as places to go with a 2.5 year old on a rainy or cloudy day? Last time our daughter was in MN she was barely 1!

How about:

Minnesota Children's Museum
Science Museum of MN
Mall of America
DT Mpls skyways, maybe with an LRT ride to MOA
Midtown Global Mktplace (they frequently ofer some kind of weekend entertainment)

Enjoy your weekend. I'm also here in Mpls this week from Ohio.

Minnesota Zoo. A large portion of it is indoors and you can see the outdoor exhibits on the monorail if the weather isn't cooperating.

Nice man! Thanks for meeting up with me in Cleveland -- your knowledge of cities and buildings was astounding! It's nice to see other people with such a high passion for cities!

Whatever you do on Memorial Day, take a few minutes to reflect on all the peoples who have died fighting for what they believed was right, trying to defend the what they felt was worth defending and those who were forced into wars they didn't believe in. Let's hope for the days when wars are no longer waged between people and countries.
