HI All - We are relocating to the Fridley area with three kids. We are looking at Crescent Ponds, Legacy Creek, and some of the other newer developments in Blaine. Any opinions on the builders/homes/prices in that area? We want to get the most bang for our new construction buck so to speak but as we are not familiar with the builders, any recomendations/warnings would be appreciated. We are looking for houses between $250-300k finished.

I too looked into both Crescent Pond and Legacy Creek.

Crescent Pond was built by Pulte. All the homes in that area are built now so if you want to get in you will have to buy an existing home.

Legacy Creek was built by Mattamy Homes but they are moving out. Ryland homes is now the builder for that area.

IMO...if you dig deep enough...you will find issues with every builder. All these builders are National builders so they don't offer much in customization.

Lennar also builds in Quail Creek so take a look at them.

All these builders start in the low $300s (you get the most basic without a finish basement).

Across from Crescent Ponds in Coon Rapids is the Fountains. Was suppose to be another up and coming housing but looks like the original builder went under. I'm not sure who the current builder is but they start in the $200s and once in a while I see a house go up.
