I personally like the east-side. Its atmosphere is urban, young, affluent, and so on. In a sense it has so much tied to downtown, especially with all the new high rises. Brady street is just amazing with great resteraunts and night bars.

What's the difference between East-town and the Eastside? Is East-town the lower Eastside?

I live in Riverwest...20 years. So that is my fav. Close to everything East Side-ish, but without the high cost.

Love the East Side!! I detect some great potential for Bay View becoming like the ES.

Anyone else get that vibe?

Any thoughts?

P.S. Lets for a reliable rail transit system for Miile.....Take it to the streets...LOL

Wow, this thread was started in 2006! Yes, the east side is my absolute favorite place to be, specifically Brady St. And I agree about the mass transit thing, we need it! And we need it to be better.

That is a good question - I grew up in shorewood and moved to riverwest 20 years ago. I have never heard of East Town. Anything East of the river was just the East Side. When did it become East Town?

East Town is not the East side. East Town is the half of downtown east of the Milwaukee river. East side is the area north of East Town.
