Inspired by the Forgotten New York website's section called "You'd Never Believe You're in NYC," I wanted to hear what people would nominate if creating a similar list for Milwaukee.

My selections would be for the following:

1) the lagoon area in Washington Park
2) Hawthorn Glen Nature Center
3) Havenwoods State Forest
4) new construction subdivisions, such as the one near 124th and Good Hope
5) where Milwaukee borders Mequon on County Line Road

This is a little obnoxious, but the way everyone talks about how segregated Milwaukee is, I'd never believe I was in Milwaukee pretty much any time I was in the city limits.

Prospect Ave, with all its high rise condos and views of the lake. Might as well call it the Gold Mile.

A few more:

- the part of the Milw. River by Kern Park particularly during fly-fishing season
- 107th and Fond Du Lac - West Granville Presbyterian looks like a little country church as you approach it heading south on 107th
- log cabin at 2600 N. Sherman Blvd (also, notice MPD is writing someone a speeding ticket there on Streetview)

The northern 1/3 of Estabrook Park, and the small sliver of Milwaukee along Hampton between Port Washington Rd and Santa Monica Blvd.

Good call, that sliver of Milwaukee along Hampton even a lot of neighbors assume it's Glendale or WFB.

Wow, very nice Milwaukee City!

9600 N. Wasaukee Road - this is the tiny portion of Milwaukee that is in Washington County. I have never personally checked this out, there is a Waste Management facility and looks like a pond?

Greenwood Terrace east of 107th - can't believe I forgot to list this one! Totally does not feel like you are in Milwaukee.

South Centennial - I went to grade school < 1 mi away and did not even know about the new construction homes there.

Also 12500 West Carmen Ave. is the only part of Milwaukee in Waukesha County (ADM Cocoa - formerly Ambrosia plant)
