My wife and one-year old daughter and I will be spending a couple days in Kenosha and a couple days in Milwaukee in the near future. I know about the Betty Brinn Children's Museum, which sounds great, but does anyone have any suggestions for "family-friendly" things to do, places to eat, etc? We love parks/outdoors and will probably spend some time walking by the lake, but if there's anything else that springs to mind, I'd love to hear from you. (We won't be around during the Wisconsin State Fair, I'm afraid)

If anyone has any suggestions in either area, I'm all ears!

Thanks!

Discovery World is good. A lot of science stuff (some is kind of fun for a toddler), but it's their aquarium that would probably be the most appreciated.
The Domes at Mitchell Park are nice for a stroller walk. It has free parking and low ticket rates.
Plenty of beaches with free parking.
I haven't been yet, but the Boerner Botanical Gardens at Whitnall Park might be worth a look. There are a few playgrounds and a nature center nearby.

The Racine Zoo is another thing I thought of. It's small but actually quite nice. Just the right size for a younger child who might get tired of going around a bigger zoo. It's also right next to the lake.

Thanks for the tips, everyone! We had a really nice time in both cities. In Kenosha, we visited the Jelly Belly factory, which was a bit of a disappointment (our daughter is a bit too young for it now -- the tour is a "sit on this train and watch 8 videos" and she doesn't sit still that long!). But she loved the Racine Zoo, especially the bird area. In Milwaukee, we hit Betty Brinn, Discovery World and both of those were really great (especially the former). And Milwaukee was also great for lake, neighborhood, and city walking, so we did a lot of that. Too bad it was so hot most of the time! Anyway, thanks for all your suggestions -- it was a really good trip!
