From the hubby: High Lake gets really deep, good bass fishing on the shoreline and also has lake trout. Small, deep, blue and very clear. The "Raccoon" site is nicer (or at least was 5 years ago) than the "Bobcat" site. Good luck and have fun!

p.s. Thanks for the thread, it brought a lot of good memories back to my husband and I!

Mesabi, the hubby says that Raccoon has a nicer and easier landing, the campsite is back on a little gradual slope, and my favorite..."it just is." Enjoy your time--can't wait to hear how it went!

My son is heading to Crooked Lake at the beginning of May. What kind of outlook is there for Crooked Lake at this time of year? Best to fish the main body or the channels? Thanks for any advice!
