I tried to search and see if anyone had asked this but didn't find anything. Sorry if someone has and I missed it.

I'm considering transferring to NMU from LSSU next year. I've been looking to see what I can find as far as housing goes. My biggest issue is I need off campus because I have a dog. She's ten and completely attached to me (and I her) so I can't just leave her with my parents. Everything I'm seeing is not pet friendly. Basically, if it comes down to it, I'll stay in the Sault with her before leaving her.

Any suggestions on pet friendly places? I'm looking for a one bedroom or a studio (no roommates!) for around $400, give or take a bit. I don't mind looking in Ishpeming even, if it's pet friendly. Though I would prefer to be near NMU.

This is very frustrating. Even in the Sault it's next to impossible to get pet friendly rentals. I'm willing to put a deposit down, pay for any damages (though she hasn't made any yet), etc...

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Keep checking the Mining Journal. Call on everything that doesn't specifically say "No Pets". We had our large indoor dog and adopted our cat while we were living up there. Lived in three different rentals there, didn't really have much of a problem. It's a very dog friendly place compared to most cities I've lived in.
