When I filed my Federal a couple of weeks ago the HR Block guy said it coud take up to 2 months to get the MI state return back because of budget shortfalls....anyone else heard this?

Not heard a thing about that anyplace. If it were true, it would be all over the news here don't you think? Sounds like something California did last year and your tax guy is just guessing.

Are you sure he wasn't saying that it could take up to two months because you didn't e-file with direct deposit? That would sound more logical to me.

My husbands has already gone thru (according to the Michigan refund website) and should be deposited in our bank account right after 8 this morning when the bank opens!!

It will be much quicker if you e-filed with direct deposit. It will take up to 2 months for a paper check.
