There's a half dozen of us regulars on here that live in da U.P. and probably another half dozen scragglers that speak up from time to time.
I'm in the Marquette area myself.

Default I consider myself a yooper

My family is from there, I spent every summer vacay up there in the tiny little town of Painesdale where my Dad grew up...still go quite often. I grew up in Milwaukee, but it never (still doesn't) felt like home, the way the UP does.

I love it for it's natural beauty, history, family roots, etc. I hope it stays smallish, because it's uniquely clean & safe. It'd be great if they had more jobs then I could move there!

Maybe City-Data can create a Yooper section, like Craigslist did, so we know where to go?

Please consider it, Moderator

Default Retired to da UP

I retired to the Rapid River area. Originally a troll from Muskegon, but spent the last 37 years in Colorado. Too many people out there. It's just right here.

My dad came from Ontonagon and I spent many happy summers on the "farm". I went to NMU in the eighties but haven't been back in many years except quick trips for funerals and weddings where you drive all night and then turn around and drive right back. Diane

I'm originally a downstater but have been living in Marquette for the better part of the past 12 years (college and job) save for a two year period after college.

Colorado...I love Colorado. My sister's family used to live in Littleton and I have a friend who lives out in Steamboat Springs. Love the Rocky Mountains!
