I couldn't even open my front door or see streetlights.

Awesome.

The drifting last night was beyond normal for us here in Marquette. Snow we like , not the wind.
At lest , now , we will have some fresh snow for the start of the UP 200. Starts tomorrow , everyone is excited. People come from all over North America , for this event, a qualifying race for the Iditarod.
Don't let the snow in the woods fool you however. With out snowshoes , you will still sink up to your waist. The thaw last week only helped in clearing the city streets....

I'd love to see that! (pics?)
We're supposed to be having blizzard-like conditions here at the Lakeshore but it has been more flurry-like, imo and I'm very close to the shore.

No, I couldn't. It's a little something called "drifting". When the wind is whipping snow horizontally and it reaches a confined corner. It tends to accumulate. Really had to push hard this morning to get out.

The headline today read "BLIZZARD" so I guess that's what it was. I don't know what defines a blizzard. Funny word. bliiiiizzzzzzzzzarrrrd.

I love blizzards, especially the Butterfinger ones.

The weather ones suck though. We got only about 3" last night, but I had a drift 2' deep next to my door this morning.
