Overheard on Thursday at the corner of Ashland and Kercheval streets, near the border of Detroit and Grosse Pointe Park:

"Where is he?" "Is that him?" "He was sitting right there earlier!" "He's wearing a button-up shirt." "He's in the alley." "I see him." "That's him!"

Clint Eastwood attracts giddy gawkers (http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080718/ENT02/807180338 - broken link)

That's one thing I would have never expected in 1000 years: for Clint Eastwood, the quintessential Western cowboy, to come to Detroit.

I heard that they will be or have been shooting in Grosse Pointe Shores, Grosse Pointe Park, Royal Oak, Warren, and Highland Park. It is a bit strange that Clint Eastwood is shooting a movie in Metro Detroit, it just does not seem like his character, at least the ones that he has played in the past.

Believe it or not he has shot another movie here in Michigan. Cant recall the name but it had blood in the title. Maybe that will be the new economy of Michigan. Think about it, you really couldnt find a place with a more diverse scenery. Plus we have all 4 seasons.

I wonder of they needed half of the Detroit police force out to guarantee the safety of Clint Eastwood when they shot Gran Torino. But, only a bad a@@ like Clint Eastwood would be fine in Detroit.
