I am trying to get ahead of the curve for cherry season.
I am a native Michigander but currently live in SW Ohio
(I do so miss Michigan)
I recently started baking more and am now more "into" cherries.
When cherry season hits I want to be able to buy some cherry's
in bulk to freeze. And while I know most place grow Montmorency
I would also like to buy some Morellos if I can find them.

1) Amarelles - Upright, vigorous trees; pale colored fruit, or reddish, with light-colored or clear juice, low acid [Montmorency, Kentish, Early Richmond], and

2) Morellos - Small, bushy, compact trees; dark red fruit, more spherical, higher acid, red colored juice [Stockton, Vladmir, North Star]. 'Montmorency' is by far the main tart cherry, accounting for 95% of all production. 'Early Richmond' and 'English Morello' are two other tart cultivars of importance.

Anyone know or have favorite orchard resources they can help me out with?

Thanks,

Have you considered using dried cherries? You might even find those at Meijer there in Ohio.

Default Cherries!

I don't know how large the area is you live in, only that if you have a Whole Foods Market, they have locally grown produce and certainly they will have cherries. Dried, seedless, any kind! Otherwise, drive to Traverse City and you'll be able to fill your vehicle.

Cheers!
