hi folks ,
first of all iam not american nor english so show a bit understanding ..hehe
ok , iam german but living right now in Spain , since more or less 2years , before i lived more than 15years in Germany ..!
We moved to Spain cos my dad had to change his work.. , we are living in Alicante if anybody knows!?
anyway a few weeks ago my dad came from work , grabbed a beer and told us that there is a possibility that we are moving to the states!
everybody was shocked , dont understand me wrong u have a nice country , but we just moved 2years ago from germany to spain!
And America and Europe are quiet different , espcially when u wanne move to Detroit! ..
We are sure about that we dont wanne move to Detroit .. cos of crime etc. (my sister is 15) .. is it true that Detroit is that hopeless or is it overstated¿?
My father wouldnt work directly in Detroit , a bit outside of the city ... the city is called toledo! .. is there any nice city where the crime rate isnt that high and which isnt that small? .. i heard about ann arbour ..anything else?

Me myself iam 20years old , just finished my school , went after school to Australia for 7month and now thinking about "studin´in the US or in Germany?"
I mean USA , everybody here is dreaming about studing in the USA ... like i said u have a nice country , where i would like to study for at least 2years! But iam not sure yet! ... i wanne study economy , so i would study f.ex 2years in the states and the last 2-3years in Gemany .... half/half u know? Is that possible?
Is there any good uni in Michigan where i can study economy , and how high are the fees u hav to pay? ..

should be enough for now .. would be pleased to receive some answers!

thanks/danke y hasta luego

Guten tag Alacant,

Haha. I'll translate it myself.

I said:
Hello Alacant,

Michigan is a great place! My German is not so good, sorry.

Toledo is about an hour south of Detroit. It is actually in the state of Ohio not Michigan. However some people consider it part of suburban Detroit.

The University of Michigan is a very good school. It is the city of Ann Arbor, west of Detroit. It is sort of far from Toledo, about an hour. I don't know how their economics program is.

I hope that helps!

Ann Arbor is the largest city in Washtenaw County. It is somewhat detached from the Detroit Metro Area, but just barely. It is really the nearest separate larger city to Detroit. The downtown area is very nice!
