Exactly what I was thinking. I tried to rep you but apparently I have already repped you recently and I couldn't so consider yourself repped again.

OP, if you are referring to your BF's mother, she is not your mother-in-law until the wedding, until then she is simply your BF's mother. Marriage is a serious commitment and people who throw around terms like this until they are meaningless kind of irritate me. It's like when you meet someone who has a "fiance" that they have been living with for 10 years.

And if you do indeed have a legal mother-in-law and a BF then God help you, you have bigger problems than trying to sneak a couple of cats into an apartment!

I wouldn't bet on OP telling the truth - not to us and certainly not to the landlord.

She came here to try to get help with crafting her lie, err, I mean "story".

Obviously, you're able to carry the rental payments alone, but heres a couple things to consider...

Adding your boyfriend as an occupant places you as his landlord. Lets say for example he has a loss of employment, and he decides to be a couch potatoe and play video games all day; other than asking him to find alternative housing, the only recourse is giving him a 30 day notice that starts a possible eviction process. Approximate cost of an eviction, about $400.

Also, be prepared to pay pet deposit fees charged in most pet friendly apartment communities and rental homes.
