Need to find a home to purchase in rule area, I have a brain tumor and all my doctors are at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit . All the people there are wonderful, I had my surgery in May 2018 we are looking to purchase a home so I can be in one place for the rest of my life . I am looking for something that has city water and sewage trying to be realistic about affording the maintenance for well and septic tank does not look like something I would be able to do . Most of what I’ve found So far, has been in pigeon Michigan, and I’m not sure that I would be able to get back-and-forth to the hospital due to the uncertainty of my future . If anyone out there has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated . In order to qualify for my loan it needs to be in a rule area. Thank you very much for taking the time to read my posts .

I'm sorry, I've never heard the term "Rule Area" applied to home loan qualification. Can you explain that?

Or did you mean RURAL area?

If so, with your needs I would NOT live far from Ann Arbor U of M Hospital, or Henry Ford and I wouldn't let a loan put me anywhere I couldn't easily get there quickly. Pigeon is way up in the thumb area, there's NO expressways in the entire thumb, and you can't get quickly to ANYWHERE from there! I would focus on areas within 50 miles or less of Detroit-Ann Arbor

Are you looking for properties that qualifies for the USDA Rural Loan program? This might be a place to start: https://eligibility.sc.egov.usda.gov...n=GetRHContact or maybe you're already aware of this page.

Well, it might be difficult to find a very rural spot with city water and sewer. You might check out areas near Monroe, SW Wayne County, northern Macomb or southern St. Clair County. All would provide relatively easy access to expressways leading into Detroit.
