I had rented a unit from an apartment building from 3/1/17 - 3/1/18. They sent me a ledger confirming my rent was always paid on time and that our lease was in fact a 12 month lease. They are now trying to charge me with three months of rent from 3/1/18-6/1/18. I have tried on numerous occasions to contact them and have even gone to the office. They always tell me the property manager is unavailable. I had no idea they were charging me with anything until I was notified by the bank that I am buying a house through. They have not tried contacting us of any nature to tell us. My question is what can I do to make this go away? I sent them a notarized letter stating that I was willing to go to court and I still have heard absolutely nothing from them.

You will need a consultation with a lawyer. If he sends them a letter on his letterhead, that should stop them from trying to charge you.

Don't try to continue to do this yourself, get the lawyer...

Do a quick check to make sure you met the cancellation of the lease requirement. Many leases have an automatic conversion to month to month or something else if you don't close out the lease in the required fashion.
