I heard there is a place in Gaastra, MI that helps troubled teens. What is it called?

Nobody knows? It's on Grouix La and it's a farm. They work with troubled teens. I can't remember the name of the place or I'd look it up on their website. Can anyone help?

How about calling the City Clerk's office?
(906) 265-2141
The town is so small if there is something like that up there they will certainly know about it.

OK, I tried to find something yesterday and couldn't so today I called the city of Gaastra and they said that it is Mission Bible. I spoke with them, and they said the child has to be at least 17 and that when they first began, they focused more on kids than they do now. Their number is 906-265-6247 They said the website is http://www.missionteens.com/ (broken link) But it's not working for me.

I hope that helps.

In case you haven't gotten the information yet, here it is:

MISSION BIBLE TRAINING CENTER
Div. of Mission Teens, Inc.
121 GROULX LANE
GAASTRA, MI 49927
(906) 265-6247

There are 13 Mission Teens Centers across the country. The website is down right now, but you can contact them and get further information.

Hope this helps,

The child has to be at least 17?

Just out of curiosity, why is that? At age 18 the child can simply leave. Seems like a very, very narrow window...

Dr. Jim,

In response to your questions:

<The child has to be at least 17?>
<Just out of curiosity, why is that? At age 18 the child can simply leave.> <Seems like a very, very narrow window...>

The program is not for children. It is for people 18 yrs of age and up. However, occasionally a center can take in a 17 yr old if they are an 'emancipated youth', or as long as laws are complied with for whatever state the center is in. The individuals come of their own free will because they feel this is something they need to do. If they choose to leave before they complete the 8 to 10 month program, they may; however the chances of doing well are diminished of they don't graduate.

Hope this helps.
