Going to keep this short.

My estranged sister, a sufferer of MS, has been subjected to physical violence. We are estranged but I still hear things through the grapevine through my elderly mother. Sis is very obstinate, from our perspective, to be sticking around a guy who subjects her to this. She's also probably the last person who would want to be "helped." I fear it's only going to get worse. You think, "Why doesn't she just get away from the jerk?" Or why would anyone let themselves into such a situation, and I realize it's not as easy as it sounds on the surface.

Any suggestions, experiences, or resource recommendations would be appreciated.

Google the services you are looking for in Lansing. I know there are numerous ones available, including a shelter near campus and one on Michigan Avenue near Sparrow Hospital. Also, Salvation Army, Cristo Rey, Volunteers of America etc. provide short term housing or referrals to the services she may need.
