Guess I just assumed that a state surrounded on 3 sides by water would have lower water rates.

In Grand Rapids I'm hit with a $25.95/quarter 'base' water rate and a $34.26/quarter 'base' sewer rate. The consumption charges are $1.77 per 750 gallons for water, $3.26 for sewer. The long and short of it is I'm paying roughly $32/month for 1,800 gallons/mth so a dollar buys me 56 gallons.

Is that in line with what you're paying?

Cheaper than Lebanon Ohio - we pay $30.63 for water/sewer per month..and a $3.50 "storm water" charge....stupid as it sounds..per month.

So yes your cheaper...

Here in Middle Tennessee, we are on septic, so we dodged that bill. Our water bill, however, runs us around $40.00-$45.00 a month. Oh, well, gotta have it.

I'm in Genesee county. My water and sewer is a little under $100 quarterly in winter, goes up to about $130 every quarter in summer. I use about 1200 gallons of water a month, give or take.

We live in a standard lot a little smaller than half an acre. We have a flat rate of $30 for water and $30 for sewer but we get hit HARD in the summer. With little to no rain out here in Montana I've been hit with an additional $317 water bill on top of the flat rate. I hardly water anymore and it shows with my brown yard and I still paid $145 last month. We are an average family of two adults and two kids.

I live near Lake Superior and my water bill is around $100 a month. I can't find a bill copy on desk to tell yas what the rate per gallon is though.

Water bill?
In rural Washtenaw county, we had well and septic.

In Ann Arbor, it was about $50 a month for city water and sewer and trash combined.

Here in Iron Mountain, our water/sewer/garbage bill runs roughly 100-115 or so, every....couple or three months..? I would have to double-check, lol.
