Wow, just read that article. Glad I work for myself and hire who I want to work with. I have a great way of dealing with the types mentioned in this (and have). Get real close, smile, hold out your hand, then in a pleasant tone of voice say "I wish I could say it has been a pleasure working with you, but it hasn't. Get your lazy know-it-all ass off my property, your fired!" They don't realize, we 40+ year olds laid the ground work and research for their "new" skills, we are the ones who teach those skills to the 20 somethings. I can do, on my job, anything somebody fresh out of school can do, only faster, and more reliable thank you very much .
