Anyone have any dealings with this company in Michigan? I just signed up for it, (sounded good at the time!) and of course decided to research after they left. Seems like a possible scam.....any thoughts?? This is dealing with my natural gas prices.....thanks! I do have at least 30 days to cancel with no charge, thank god!!

Do not know this one. However I have had some involvement with various non-standard energy suppliers. All of them were bad news. Not necessarily scams, just did nto live up to their promises and cost more in the long run for the same or less service. I woudl probably cancel . You cna always re-sign up after you learn more about them.

If they gave you some special incentive or gift for signing up I woudl defintely cancel. A compny with a truly good product or service does nto need to play sale tricks.

The independent contractors this company hires are sometimes the dregs of society. I won't relate it here, but I had to intervene with the Michigan Public Service Commission and the State Attorney General's office to overcome some of their sleazy sales tactics, pulled on a one of our most defenseless, helpless members of society. Stay away from them.

They used to be Universal and they are a scam, they lock you in at a rate higher than you regular rate saying that in case it goes up. They come when you rate is high, Then you are stuck for five years my rate has never gone above their rate so we have been raped for five years by them.
We are now able to cancel without fee, and they wanted to talk us in to staying by saying they would drop the rate and we should have called them before.

I just cancelled my account with them. I found that I was paying more than double what DTE is charging. They are deceptive in signing people up. I was told that I would save money. They said I was under a 5 year contract which I never would have agreed to. I also read something online about the Attorney General looking into this company because of so many complaints.

Please avoid this and other look-alike companies going door to door selling energy. They prey on helpless, developmentally disabled adults living on their own and sign them to huge contracts when they aren't even capable of signing their own names. This is an awful company and they are horrible, horrible people!

CBS Chicago story on the Just Energy scam pretty much says it all--over 29,000 complaints in one year! Do a Google search for "just energy scam" if you need any more proof. Avoid!

ALWAYS google--as soon as they come to your door--say "Do you mind if I google that?"
We did that when the magazine subscriptions come around for donating to a charity. I googled the comapny, printed the BBB page and even then the woman swore it was a different company. I pointed to the CEO name and address--identical to the one on her badge. I suggested she might want to leave as when I closed the door I would be calling the police.

I have Just Energy, they are a scam, My friends live two blocks from me and I am paying double the rate they are paying from Semco, Called up Semco and was told I had to cancel Just Energy by calling them and then I would go on the open Market for three months, but would most likely still be cheaper then what Just Energy is charging me. Then after three Months would revert back to Semco! Can't believe this So called company is allowed to sell anything! No more Salesman at my door, no matter where or who they are from!
